EisBadeWette ice bathing at Altstadtbad Krähenteich

The EisBadeWette is an annual ice bathing event at the Altstadtbad Krähenteich, an open-air bath on a pond at the edge of Lübeck's old town. Participants go into the cold water at least up to the chest; in 2026, entry for spectators was free. The programme of the 2026 edition included a Zumba warm-up, the joint ice bath and a prize draw. Beforehand, anyone can bet in local shops on how many people will bathe; the proceeds go to the association that backs the bath. In February 2026, 107 people took part. The date for 2027 has not been announced yet.
