About this event
The New Year's Dive at Scheveningen takes place on the first of January on the beach of the Scheveningen seaside resort in The Hague. For this edition the start is on the beach at the height of the Beelden aan Zee museum, near the Pier. Registration opens on site at half past ten, a joint warm-up with music begins at about quarter to twelve, and at noon the participants run into the North Sea. A small fee is paid at registration; booking in advance is not possible. Each participant receives a hat from the sponsor Unox and pea soup afterwards. On New Year's Day the sea is usually around five degrees.
