About this place

Winter Island is a floating sauna platform in the harbour at Kalvebod Brygge, an eight-minute walk from Copenhagen Central Station; in summer the site runs as Green Island. The winter season lasts from 1 October 2026 to 1 May 2027. There are four saunas for eight to ten people with panoramic windows over the water and the large Horizon sauna for up to 35 guests, used as a shared sauna and for saunagus. Places in a shared sauna are booked by the hour, without membership. Cooling is by cold showers and splash buckets, as swimming in the harbour is not allowed. A café under a heated pergola serves pizza and drinks.
